Boasting in hope of the glory of God

December 13th, 2009 · No Comments

In this teaching Dr. Hartmann outlines an essential theme in Paul’s writings regarding boasting. Paul wants us to set our confidence in the work the Lord Jesus Christ did through the blood of his cross to atone for human sin so that we can boast in what He did rather than what we know, what we do, keeping the law, circumcision, human wisdom, riches, and strength, etc.

The question arises as to what we place our confidence in for righteousness before God. In Paul’s various epistles, he addresses multiple contexts in which people put their confidence in something other than Jesus blood and righteousness. A comparison contrast is made regarding boasting in the Lord versus boasting in the flesh.
