The history of Israel is summarized in Psalm 105 and 106. It shows the idealized way God had wanted the people to be and how they actually lived it out. Because they lived it out in such vileness, they are eventually brought into judgment. Ezekiel 22 describes the condition of God’s people right before catastrophic judgment strikes the nation. Despite this horrific indictment, God says He is looking for a person to stand in the gap to turn away His fierce anger. A comparison can easily be made to the days in which we are living. Dr. Hartmann calls for clarity by God’s people in what they judge and proclaim to be sin so as to include all aspects of what God judges to be sin. An examination of Moses intercession is exposited and a call is given to enter into such intercessory life of prayer.
