Acts 8:14-17 records the authoritative act of the designated ambassadors of God’s kingdom – the Apostles. God used them to authenticate “by hand” His official seal of the acceptance of the Samaritans into His kingdom as a people who have now received mercy.
The seal of authenticity God delivered by the hands of the Apostles is the Holy Spirit. This significant act shows the importance God placed on officially recognizing the inauguration of the Gospel entering the formerly God forsaken population of Samaritans.
