Abraham and the Journey of Faith

February 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Genuine faith requires obedience. One can monitor their level of faith by there level of obedience. Typically when faith wanes, obedience wanes too.

The account of Abraham reveals that a life of faith begins with a revelation of God in which God apprehends you. A response of faith required on your part. A series of alters of personal consecration are built in which supernatural spiritual transactions take place. The building of altars demonstrates priestly-prophetic acts laying claim to the land and the full inheritance of the promises of God. Over and over again Abraham calls upon the name of the Lord and all that the name of the Lord reveals about God’s character. When Abraham makes mistakes, God covers and redeems them. God may have us do “walk-abouts” to take inventory of what He’s promised just as he had Abraham do. A life of faith will not go uncontested – enemies arise that will test our resolve. God will bring us to know we are in covenant with Him, which grants us His protection. However, mere human efforts regardless of how good intended cannot bring God’s promises to fruition. God alone must perform.
