Living Water

April 5th, 2009 · No Comments

Moses descriptively writes in Psalm 90 that God is eternal but that man fades away. The question could be asked as to why the tone of the Psalm is so somber. Perhaps he was older and had witnessed so many events and observed the people of God for so many years. Psalm 78 tells us Moses had seen Ephraim turn back in day of battle because of rebellion and unbelief, and thus miss his opportunity to inherit the land, even though they had seen so many mighty miracles of God against the Egyptians and their gods

Against that backdrop Dr. Hartmann describes the children of Israel being allowed to drink abundant water after a striking a rock while they were in the wilderness. He goes on to describe this as a foreshadowing of the New Testament believers experience of the Holy Spirit, who is described as Living Waters, that is to flow out of our being. The keys to experiencing this Living Water are outlined by Dr. Hartmann as in Isaiah 55, and warnings are given based on Jeremiah 2.
