The Reign of David

August 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

The long journey of David in his ascension to the throne of Israel and the glorious establishment of the promised borders of Israel open this teaching. An exploration of David as a typifying the messianic reign of Christ is touched upon along with the implications of David’s desire to build God a house and God’s desire to give David an everlasting house, which is fulfilled in Christ. Dr. Hartmann then explores the triumphant reign of David in spite of the tragic failure of David in committing adultery and murder. An exploration of the possible characteristics of David that put him in a place of temptation is made. Nathan the prophet of the Lord brings exposure and rebuke to David resulting in repentance and restoration for David, along with the ongoing consequences of sin.
