Dr. Hartmann explores Peter’s sermon in Acts 2, and highlights the essential elements of the authentic Gospel message.

The record shows Peter giving a clear proclamation of the historical events surrounding the life of Jesus. Peter goes on to directly implicate his audience in the murder of Jesus. The guilt of Peter’s audience is made absolutely clear, so much so, that the listeners of Peter’s proclamation ask Peter what they must do in light of their clear and convincing guilt. Peter then says it is necessary for each individual person to accept God’s terms of surrender to His loving sovereignty by acknowledging his or her guilt in light of the judgment of God.

Dr. Hartmann further explores the nature of authentic repentance by examining John 3:16-21 regarding coming to the light.

To further illuminate the nature of genuine repentance and the ongoing continuance of the blessings of covential relationship, Dr. Hartmann explores Moses prophetic warning to the people of Israel in Deuteronomy 29:17-21. This is an extremely relevant passage of scripture, especially in light of the current concepts and practices in much of Christendom, especially among American evangelicals. Authentic covential relationship and consequential blessing cannot be taken for granted. Covential blessing and relationship with God requires action and right heart attitude.
