Dr. John Hartmann

Dr. Hartmann asserts that God’s plan is good. The question is then posed “why do people chose anything else?”. The answer from Scripture essentially boils down to people walking in the pursuit of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. What these phrases mean and how they rob us of the best that God has for us is explored. God’s remedy to overcome such things is discussed. The fruit of the Spirit includes self-control, and is a principal evidence of God’s power and presence and a Christian’s life. Thanksgiving, prayer, and fasting are disciplines and evidence of God’s Spirit working in your life. God is shaking all things. God makes many promises about those who wait on him. In times of shaking it behooves us to wait patiently on God and walk in the promised blessings he has bestowed upon us. He has adopted us as His sons, and conferred numerous benefits upon us. The powers of darkness supposed the granting of such high privilege upon mere creatures made of earth. Part of sonship entails suffering even as Jesus suffered. Jesus disciples will embrace suffering. An exhortation is presented to participate in the sufferings of Christ in opposition to the powers of darkness.
